Personal Injury Protection: What You Need to Know

What Is PIP?

Personal Injury Protection (PIP), also known as no-fault coverage, covers medical expenses related to motor vehicle collision up to the first $10,000, regardless of fault. PIP is required for all motor vehicle owners in the state of Florida by law.

PIP insurance companies are denying and/or wrongfully reducing payments every day. Large insurance companies like Progressive, GEICO, and State Farm deny or wrongfully reduce most claims in Florida. That is where our experienced PIP claims attorneys come in. We have experience working on thousands of cases to get PIP insurance companies to correctly pay medical providers.

The PIP Process

  • Our attorneys will meet with you to review and assess any files or EOBs for improper denials or wrongful reductions. The documents may also be sent electronically.
  • We will evaluate each file for denied or wrongfully reduced payments made by the insurance company.
  • We will assemble the proper and necessary paperwork for a PIP Demand.
  • As soon as the bill becomes overdue (30 days from when the insurance company receives the bill), the PIP Demand letter is sent.
  • We track these PIP Demand letters very closely because the insurance company must properly pay the benefits due to you + interest within 30 days from when they receive the Demand.

Please keep in mind that your files may be audited for denied or wrongfully reduced payments going back five (5) years.

An audit of your files will cost you nothing, so does all of our meetings in which we will answer any and all questions you may have regarding the PIP benefits paid to your medical practice. We are also more than happy to have one of our experienced attorneys (at NO COST) meet with you just to answer any questions you may have regarding the proper payment of PIP benefits.
